Ann D. Lewis is the owner of Pups To Pooches LLC located in Peachtree Corners, GA which is a suburb just north of Atlanta, Georgia. Pups To Pooches LLC offers in-home/private training sessions for both training and behavioral needs, virtual training and behavior modification options, and group classes such as Puppy Kindergarten, Life Skills, and more...In-person classes are generally taught outdoors at Pet Med Plus veterinary clinic located in Alpharetta, GA, 30022. At Pups To Pooches Dog Training, we also offer AKC S.T.A.R Puppy and Canine Good Citizen testing.
In addition to being a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (Knowledge Assessed), Ann is also fully certified in canine behavior as a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the IAABC. She also holds certifications as a CATCH Certified Dog Trainer through the CATCH Canine Training Academy, a Professional Dog Trainer through the Absolute Dogs PDT program, and most recently a certification as Family Dog Mediator, through Kim Brophey's Applied Ethology L.E.G.S. Course (Learning-Environment-Genetics-Self). Ann has also taken and completed Michael Shikashio's Aggression In Dogs Master Course, learning from one of the industry's world specialists on the topic of aggression in dogs. Ann is usually enrolled in one course or another and regularly attends conferences both virtual and in person as she seeks to stay at the top of her game when it comes to helping families with their dogs.
Ann is committed to using a game based approach to both training and behavior modification which is both easy and fun to learn for both dogs and their people. Ann and her team are passionate about what they do and treat both the animals and humans they serve with kindness and respect while seeking to create dog-human teams who become learners for life.
Ann speaks both English and French (and some Russian). She is a retired educator of the French language to elementary school children in the public school system of Dekalb County, GA where she taught for 26 years. Having lived in the U.K., France, Russia, and India as well as traveling to many other countries, Ann is also culturally savvy and knowledgeable as she understands and appreciates cultures around the globe.
When she is not helping dogs and their people, Ann enjoys time with her family and her beagle, Lucy with whom she enjoys doing Scent Work, hiking, and tracking.
