When guided by a Certified Behavior Consultant, problem behaviors can be greatly improved.Behavior modification begins with an initial two hour meeting to evaluate your situation, assess your dog's issues, and discuss your training goals. It's a deep dive into your dog's background and behavior. The evaluation includes a comprehensive follow-up report with your dog's customized training and/or behavior modification recommendations.Laura, our founder, has extensive experience understanding and applying the science of animal behavior, cognition and is constantly learning more about the way dogs perceive the world. She is an ethology enthusiast: the systematic study of behavior an animal under natural conditions which helps provide a more complex and nuanced understanding of behavior. Laura is an ethical vegan. She studied under renowned author Turid Rugaas at her Nordic School based in Norway. She believes animals deserve our respect, compassion, and understanding. She has worked with individuals, shelters, and rescues since 2017 to address behavior issues, focused primarily in shy dogs, fear and reactivity. Laura helped many rescues save innocent dogs throughout the years and place them successfully in happy homes, this is why she understands the challenges rescue and shelter dogs face.Our Fear-Free Grooming part of the business focuses on cooperative care, and helping dogs feel safe during grooming activities. Our practice is Fear-Free Certified, Force-Free and subscribing to LIMA methods. We are a member of the IAABC (International Association of Behavior Consultants).
