Simone McKenna is the founder of Spotlight Puppy Academy located in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, California. The Spotlight Puppy Academy (short SPA) is an all-in-one puppy training, socialization and care solution for dedicated, busy puppy parents with demanding careers. The overall 3month premier puppy training program includes 8 weeks of Puppy Day School where SPA takes the heavy lifting of the "raising puppy right" project off puppy guardians to-do lists. With compassionate, reward based and ethical training and an emphasis on safe, early socialization & foundation training, Spotlight Puppy Academy provides a great puppy head start and quality care through a small, carefully selected enrollment ratio of puppies each semester.
The puppies at SPA aren't the only ones learning. A well rounded support program is included to lay the foundation of setting puppy parents and their furry friends up for success at home and in the future: educational events, weekly training class, one-on-one coaching sessions, weekly Q&A online support, and so much more. Spotlight Puppy Academy is passionate about creating canine/humane relationships that are build on trust and mutual understanding.
In addition to being a Certified Professional DogTrainer (CPDT-KA), Simone successfully graduated from the Apprenticeship Program with Mardi Richmond of Good Dog Santa Cruz and is currently in the process of obtaining her Family Dog Mediator Certification. She is a member of the Pet Professional Guild and of DogBiz THRIVE! In an unregulated industry we believe that our own education is the key to success in training and in earning our client's trust.
